Exploring the history of graphic design I found out about Lissitzky, who was bridging the gap between Russian avant-garde and suprematism and constructivism of Bauhaus. El Lissitzky, whose real name is Lazar was an artist, typographer, designer and architect. He has designed numerous exhibition displays and propaganda pieces work for the Soviet Union. Lissitzky was part of the UNOVIS movement at Viciebsk People's Art School.

Lissitzky's legacy is most profoundly condensed in his project For the Voice, which consists of thirteen poems by Russian Futurist poet Vladimir Mayakovsky. The publication was designed to read aloud, and Lissitzky has put a thumb index that should make locating the needed poem fast.

Inspired by typographic explorations by Lissitzky I have created a post to great with the Victory Day on the 9th of May.
