Yuliya is a Ukrainian visual artist and designer, currently living in Amsterdam. Yuliya was born in Chernivtsi, and her first art teacher was Oleg Lubkiwsky, who is recognised for his poetic depiction of the Austrian-Hungarian heritage of her hometown. Yuliya moved to the Netherlands in 2021 to pursue an MSc in the Design for Interaction programme in Delft after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Communication Design in London.

 

Yuliya constantly deepens her visual practice. She finds painting to be a medium for discovery, an exploration of the essence of self and others, allowing meanings and emotions to interact through colour. She is inspired by perceptions of colour and sensations arising from witnessing nature, the urban environment, and people.

 

Yuliya was also recently teaching design and formgiving at the Department of Visual Design and Arts at the National University of Lviv Politechnic in 2024-2025.
