The Higher Art and Technical Studios, known by their Russian abbreviation VKH UTEMAS, is celebrating 100 years anniversary since its establishment in 1920. School aimed to translate contemporary scientific knowledge and abstract visual language into modern design pedagogy, adopting the ‘objective’ method to facilitate the education of the masses. The design school is less known and researched, unlike Bauhaus, however design pedagogy was developed by tutors Rodchenko, Lisitskyi was progressive and revolutionary. My zine publication is a tribute to their heritage, that also includes Rodchenko's 'initiative' exercise.
